Josephine Gieseke
Former Organizer, New York

Josephine grew up in Taichung, known as the "cultural city" of Taiwan. She later attended National Cheng Chi University in Taipei where she studied International Business and then moved to Portland, Oregon (no sales tax, perfect for the shopoholic) in 1991 where she studied Sociology and Psychology at Portland State University.

After working with the Oregon Economic Development Department, Josephine moved back to Taipei and worked for the India-Taipei Association (Indian Embassy) as a business development manager, promoting trade between Taiwan and India. There, she successfully organized several international trade shows and increased Indian export to Taiwan by three hundred million US dollars in one year.

In 1997, Josephine moved to the Windy City of Chicago, and then Washington D.C., and finally to New York in 2001. She has truly enjoyed and appreciated what each of the three different American cities has to offer.

Here in New York, Josephine is a contract interpreter for the Department of Homeland Security. When she is not interpreting, bar hopping, shopping, or traveling, Josephine is busy with real estate opportunities in New York and in Shanghai.
