Eric Chan
Former Head Organizer, Silicon Valley

Being a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Eric wanted to get a different perspective in life and thus attended Carnegie Mellon where he got his undergradu-
ate degree in business.

After graduation and a sanity check, Eric moved back to the Bay Area and worked in the software industry for a number of years. During that time, he travelled extensively for work to Northern and Western Europe as well as to China and India. After a couple of years, Eric wanted to be more "technical" and went back to Carnegie Mellon for a Masters in Software Engineering.

Eric is currently an independent software marketing con-
sultant in the Bay Area with a keen interest in building his network across the Pacific. One of his aspirations is to work for a Chinese company with a subsidiary in the U.S. or a European firm with a presence in China.

From a very young age, Eric has been a frequent traveller, having been to the four corners of the globe, to over a dozen cities in China and to Hong Kong many times over to visit friends and family. Eric also has a knack for lan-
guages and endeavors to speak at least ten of them with moderate fluency. He currently speaks Cantonese and Mandarin fluently which he learned from friends and family and is conversant in Spanish, as well.

The other interesting thing about Eric is that he is a mobile phone fanatic, having been through at least one a year for the past dozen years or so and very proud of that fact. Come to the ORIENTED Happy Hours, tell him how cool you think his phone is (even if you don't), and then watch how this man reacts! That alone should be enough enter-
tainment value to keep you coming back for more.

ĦQue divertido!
