What We Do
On the last Thursday of every month, event organizers in different cities host the ORIENTED Happy Hours - all at the same time! The Happy Hours first launched in 2002 in Shanghai, Taipei, and Beijing (see photos) and are now held across the globe. They enable our members to network face-to-face on a regular basis, a critical aspect of the Asian business culture.
What We Hope to Accomplish
We provide networking opportunities for our members because we recognize the impact that such a powerful global network will have on the economic development of the overall region, however intangible.
Many of us have extended family in Asia - parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins - old friends and classmates, business connections, and political ties. If we can utilize our guanxi, bilingual/bicultural skills, professional talents, and international training to help elevate the living standards and business practices in the region, we will.
Our Happy Hours are just a means to that end - a regular forum for our friends to meet, exchange ideas, do business together, and collectively contribute to Asia's rise in the international arena. It is inevitable that many will eventually move into senior management positions and positions of influence. Thus, the friendships they make through ORIENTED will be invaluable.
What We Don't Do
Instead of organizing seminars, conferences, and other types of events that are being offered by many other organizations already, we actively help to promote them to our members through our various partnership programs.

Also, we are not in the business of promoting venues and prefer to patron the same upscale hotels we've used in the past. This allows us to spend our time doing what we do best.
