A special occasion!10-Year Anniversary March 29, 2012 Dear Friends, Thursday, March 29, is the 10-Year Anniversary of the ORIENTED Happy Hours. Please join us at an event nearest you for this very special occasion! In looking back at the March 2002 photos from our first official Happy Hours in Shanghai and Taipei, I can still remember the excitement of connecting people together in two cities. Who knew that ORIENTED would go on to become not just the most prominent networking group across Asia Pacific, but the largest of its kind in the world. The ORIENTED Happy Hours have helped to forge invaluable partnerships and friendships that will last for a lifetime. That is the ultimate legacy of our organization.
I am forever grateful for the many people who rolled up their sleeves in those early years to help: family members, close friends, and friends of friends who would later serve as our management team, event organizers, service providers, advisors, investors, and more. Building ORIENTED together with them was an experience I will always treasure. I also want to thank our venue partners and the thousands of members who have supported us over the years. Some have been actively involved since the very beginning, while others continue to support us even after moving on. Most of all, our success could not be possible without our event organizers, an outstanding group of global professionals who themselves have vested interests in Asian business and partnerships. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and dedication, for it is they who make the magic possible. If there was ever an example of how guanxi really drives the Asian business culture -- and how powerful it can be on a global scale -- this is it!
