Ben Cheng

Ben has over fifteen years of experience in all things web-related and oversees all site maintenance and development initiatives for this website. Ben was an applications developer at The Bank of New York and senior software engineer at Qwest Communications before joining his current consulting firm. Previously, Ben lead a team of developers for NetBizSoft Software in Taiwan and China, and planned, designed and developed the initial web presence of Ace Group Inc. He holds an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Chicago and a MA in biomedical sciences from the University of Hawaii-Manoa.


Christine Hsu

Christine is Founder & Program Director of ORIENTED and has more than fifteen years of work experience in non-profit, government and private industry. Christine is also a long-standing proponent of community service and has a long track record of building communities, online and off, from concept to realization to sustainability. During the time she worked in Asia, Christine reinstated CAPT, co-founded ORIENTED.ORG (the most prominent English-language community site for international professionals in Taiwan, now at Forumosa.com), and then took the .ORG concept global and founded ORIENTED.COM. She studied at SUNY Stony Brook and has a marketing degree from the USC Honors College.


Eyee Hsu

One of the most recognized English-language broadcasters in China, Eyee is the host of Up Close in Beijing, a studio audience guest interview program on CCTV9, China Central Television's English Channel. Previously, she lived in Tokyo where she served as Senior Advisor at Global Health Consulting, a health care consulting firm. Eyee has been an active leader with ORIENTED since 2002 in both Beijing and Tokyo and played a key role as part of the Management Team in providing strategic direction for the organization. She has over ten years of project management and management consulting experience in business strategy, operations, and process efficiency. Eyee received a B.A. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Economics at UC Berkeley, where she graduated with high honors.


Steven Huang

Steven is Vice President at Shipston Group Limited, an international private equity firm with diversified investments in the United States, Eastern Europe, Russia and China. He has held leadership positions with Xin De Capital, Accenture, Citigroup, and other MNCs in Asia and North America, developing business strategy in the telecommunications, banking, and retail sectors and using technology to execute those strategies. Steven holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in finance and management from the New York University Stern School of Business, where he graduated with high honors. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of Asia Bank, N.A. and on the Board of Directors of 3KM International Consulting.


George Koo

Dr. Koo is the Director of Chinese Services Group of Deloitte & Touche. He has advised numerous companies on their China strategies and business operations, including 3M, Applied Biosystems, Arrow International, Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Palm, Stant and others. Dr. Koo is a frequent speaker in various public forums on successful business strategies in China as well as the basics to forming successful alliances between Chinese and American companies. He writes for New America Media on issues relating to Chinese Americans and to U.S.-China relations. He is also a member of Committee of 100 and Pacific Council for International Policy. Dr. Koo moved to the U.S. as a child from China, grew up in Seattle and educated at MIT, Stevens Institute and Santa Clara University.


Michael D. Lee

Michael is resident Partner of Pamir Law Group and serves as outside legal counsel to ORIENTED. His area of concentration includes cross-border venture capital, M&As, project finance, aircraft leasing and corporate transactions for MNCs and local clients in Greater China. Previously, Michael was senior associate at the Taipei office of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey and associate at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP) in Silicon Valley. Michael holds an electrical engineering degree from UC Irvine and a law degree from the McGeorge School of Law where he became the first Asian American Editor-in-Chief of what is now the McGeorge Law Review.


James Leu

Jim is Co-Founder and Marketing Director for Talk Group in China. He was heavily involved with ORIENTED.COM since its inception in the late 90's and takes credit for a number of new initiatives, including the launch of the very first ORIENTED Happy Hour in China in early 2002. Jim went on to serve as General Manager, Shanghai until 2005. Prior to moving to Shanghai, he was Director of Marketing for Kick.com, Inc. in the Bay Area which was later acquired by Sony Digital Music Ventures. Jim received his B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College and brings over fifteen years of Greater China marketing experience having worked in Taipei, San Francisco and Shanghai.
